Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency announced on Tuesday that net profit of the Turkish Banking system by the end of May 2010 was 10.3 billion TL.
Interactive Monthly Bulletin of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency for May was released.
8.2 billion TL of this net profit was in Turkish Lira and 2.5 billion was in foreign currency.
Total assets of the Turkish banking system as of end of May was reported as 879.3 billion TL. 645.8 billion of it was in Turkish Lira and 233.4 billion was in foreign currency.
Credit cards got the highest share in total loans provided by Banking system which is 439.3 billion TL. Share of credit cards was reported as 105.3 billion TL.
Share of savings deposits in total 541.2 billion TL was 216.2 billion TL.
Depositors generally invest their money in short term deposits.
Number of deposits above 1 million TL in Turkish banking system as of end of May is 31,000.
