Chairman of the Executive Board of the Banks Association of Turkey (TBB), Ersin Ozince, said Saturday that Turkey and Lebanon had strong banks with huge amounts of capital.
Speaking to the A.A after completing talks in Lebanon, Ozince said that he believed Turkey and Lebanon, in a close geography, could manage very well banking and financial institutions by giving hand in hand.
I think that the cooperation between Turkey and Lebanon, implementation of a free trade agreement, visa liberalization will all bring excellent opportunities to Turkish and Lebanese businesspeople. The banks of the two countries will reach good results by cooperating with each other, Ozince said.
In response to a question on Turkish banks opening branches in Lebanon, Ozince said that the Turkish banks may arrive in Lebanon.
The authorities of the two countries are open to the idea of banks having branches in each other, Ozince also said.
