Turkish construction firm to sign project worth $180 mln in Syria

Ronesans Insaat, a Russia-based Turkish construction firm, is set to sign a $180 million deal to build in Aleppo, Syria, a complex comprised of several amenities, the firm said on Tuesday.

The complex, Taj Halab, will include a shopping mall, movie theatres, hotels and a convention center on a 150 thousand square-meter site.

The agreement will be signed on Wednesday in Damascus with Syrian partners Cham Holding and its affiliate company Bena Properties.

The project is planned to be completed by January 2013.

Ronesans Insaat has carried out projects mainly in Libya, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkmenistan. In 2009, the company bought 10.22 percent of the Austria-based Porr Ag, one of the country's largest construction companies.
