Describing Turkey as a significant production center, Mikkelsen said the country could trigger and lead the growth of global economy together with Brazil, Russia, India and China.

Poyraz said Izmir was a port city where successful shipping companies operated and foreign investors were eager to participate in investments in this province.

"Turkey is a country of opportunities for the maritime sector. We have 177 ports that are open to international trade," Poyraz also said.
