Turkish Minister of Economy Zafer Caglayan will pay a formal visit to South Africa and Mozambique between October 3 and 6.
Caglayan will be accompanied by a delegation of Turkish businesspeople and contractors.
In a statement released Tuesday, the Turkish Ministry of Economy said that Turkey's "Africa Strategy", which began in 2003, gave positive results.
"While Turkey made efforts to eradicate poverty in Africa, Turkey's political and economic relations with African countries developed highly since 2003. Turkey's trade volume of 5.4 billion USD with the African continent in 2003 rose by 250 percent to 19 billion USD in 2011," the statement emphasized.
Minister Caglayan will be in South Africa on October 3 and will proceed to Mozambique on October 5.
