Turkish energy company to get 137.8 mln euro loan for hydro plants


A consortium of Turkish banks have agreed to provide 137.8 million euro loan to Turkish electricity producer Akfen Hydroelectric Plant Investments, an affiliate of Turkey's Akfen Holding.

The Akfen said in a regulatory filing on Thursday the loan would be used in hydroelectric plant projects carried out by a total of six of its subsidiaries.

The consortium of banks include Denizbank, Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi (TSKB), Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi and Is Bankasi.

"Highest offer"

On the orher hand, bargain for a hydroelectric power plant in Turkey on Thursday closed at an offer of $7.64 million in a series of auctions in the sell-out of a number of state-run hydroelectric power plants.

Turkish firm Ivme Electromechanics won today's tender at the 52th round of the auction for the Kayadibi unit owned by the state-owned Electricity Generation Co. Inc.

Turkey has announced it sought buyers for total of its 52 hydroelectric plants owned by the EUAS in 19 groups.

The tenders are scheduled to be completed until May 21.
