Exports of fresh fruits and vegetables from Turkey increased in the first eight months of this year by 3 percent and 14 percent in volume and value, respectively, totalling 1.31 billion U.S. dollars, a national association of exporters said on Tuesday.
The increase in exports of fresh vegetables was up 4 percent in volume and it was 17 percent in value with a turnover of 572.63 million U.S. dollars while the exports of fresh fruits reached 738 million U.S. dollars.
Cherry was at top of the most exported fresh fruits in term of value with 150.27 million USD, which was followed by strawberry, grape and apricot.
Fresh tomatoes claimed the biggest share in terms of value in the exports of fresh vegetables with 419.32 million USD.
