Turkish exports to reach $112 bln by Monday: minister

Turkish State Minister in charge of foreign trade Zafer Caglayan said Monday that "as of Sunday night, Turkish exports reached a total value of 111.5 billion USD".

Announcing export figures at an awards ceremony of the Union of Turkish Contractors at Ankara's Sheraton Hotel, Minister Caglayan said that "by the end of Monday night, Turkish exports would reach a value of 112 billion USD".

We had estimated Turkish exports to reach a value of 107.5 billion USD in 2010. However, under directives of the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, we raised our exports estimate to 111.7 billion USD. I am happy to state that Turkey's exports reached a value of 111.5 billion USD by the end of Sunday night. I am hopeful that, by the end of Monday night, Turkey's exports would reach a value of 112 billion USD, Caglayan said.

Turkey's exports would surpass 113 billion USD by the end of December 31, Caglayan also said.
