Minimum wage will be 796.50 TL gross (629.96 TL net) for workers over the age of 16 starting from January 1, 2011.

According to a new regulation released by the Minimum Wage Commission on Tuesday, minimum wage will increase to 837 TL gross (655.57 TL net) for those over the age of 16 in the second half of 2011.

For workers under 16, minimum wage has been set as 679.50 TL gross (546.20 TL net) for the first half of the year.

Workers below the age 16 will be getting 715.50 TL gross (571.97 TL net) in the second six months.

The new wages will reflect a 4.7 percent rise for the first half of the year and a 5.1 percent increase for the second half, the commission said.

The average increase in minimum wage in 2011 is expected to reach 10.1 percent.
