Turkish lira gained value on the basis of both the Consumer Prices Index and Producers' Prices Index in May.

Turkish lira gains value in May


Turkish lira (Tl) gained value on the basis of both the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) and Producers' Prices Index (PPI) in May.

According to the Turkey's Central Bank data, CPI based real effective exchange rate index (1995 = 100) rose 1.2 points to 189.3 points from 188.1 points while PPI based real effective exchange rate fell 0.1 points to 162.7 points from 162.8 points.

In another word, TL gained value by 12.4 percent on the basis of CPI and by 13.4 percent on the basis of PPI in one-year period.
