Turkish State Minister & Deputy Premier Ali Babacan said that it was more important to implement the international common rules and universal values rather than creating them.
Speaking at a session on creating common norms during Davos Summit in Switzerland on Saturday, Babacan said that they could reach success only if they implemented international common norms.
Noting that representation power of international institutions should be more democratic, Babacan said that thus, common norms could be implemented more effectively.
Babacan said that Turkey, together with Spain, established Alliance of Civilizations initiative in the aspect of international common norms, adding that more than 100 countries joined this initiative.
He said that Turkey supported international laws and democracy, adding that some developed countries supported democracy in their own countries but unfortunately they implemented different policies in other countries.
Babacan said that the EU, at first, was established for common values, but now its enlargement stopped.
