Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the inflation rate in January, 2011 had been the lowest one since 1969.

Speaking at his Justice & Development (AK) Party group meeting on Tuesday, Erdogan said that according to figures of Turkey Exporters' Assembly, Turkey's exports increased 23 percent in January, 2011 when compared to January, 2010.

The exports figure of January, 2011 was recorded as 9.6 billion USD, noted Erdogan adding that the exports from Southeastern Anatolia region in January 2011 reached 500 million USD, which was a record amount. He added that it was 346 million USD in January, 2010 which meant a 45 percent rise.

Noting that Southeastern Anatolia made the highest exports to Middle Eastern countries, and then to EU and African countries, Erdogan said that Iraq, Italy and Syria were on the top of the exports list.

Erdogan said that industrial output rates of 2010 were also announced, adding that a 17 percent rise was recorded which was very higher than the expectations.
