Turkish railroad car maker TUVOSAS signed a million Euro deal with Bulgarian Railways to make 30 sleeping cars.
Following 2.5 year long negotiations, BDJ General Director Pencho Popov and TUVOSAS General Director Ibrahim Ertiryaki signed the agreement in Sofia on Friday.
The agreement marks the first export of modern train cars manufactured by TUVOSAS to EU Countries.
Ertiryaki said each compartment housed three beds. He said compartments had fire alarms and the equipment used in the cars were in compliance with EU standards.
