Turkish-Russian joint venture F.O.R.T is getting ready to build a wholesale market hall in Russian city of Rostov.
The Rostov Wholesale Market Hall (F.O.R.T) will be the first Turkish wholesale market hall in Russia, and it will be managed by Turkish entrepreneurs.
Being constructed on a 91,388 m2 gross area, the Project which consists of a total of 184 sales units, where 104 of the units offer cold storage facilities, will cost 35 million USD.
Ground breaking ceremony of the wholesale market, which is expected to be opened in February 2011, will be held on July 27, 2010 with the participation of Turkish State Minister for Foreign Trade Zafer Caglayan.
F.O.R.T., operating in Rostov-Aksay Region, is a Turkish-Russian joint venture company. Designing process of the terminal, took more than a year. It is situated at a distance of 350 meters to Baku Highway, 1 kilometer to M4 International Moscow Highway, and 3.5 kilometers to the port.
The terminal is expected to be attractive for Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable exporters, as the Russian market is the biggest receiver of Turkish fruit and vegetable exports. 32 percent of Turkey's total fruit and vegetable exports is made to the Russian market. Turkey's vegetable and fruit exports to Russia amounted to USD 633.1 million in 2009.
F.O.R.T. is equipped with power plants and can generate its own electricity without any blackouts. Project consists of three divisions, and there is a total of 184 sales units. Offices are located above the sales units. The Project also includes underground and overground systems, product sorting unit, weighing platforms, car park, headquarters building, medical room, shops, bank, restaurant, residential areas, market and offices.
