Turkish travel agencies aim to send more tourists to Bosnia

Turkish travel agencies aim to send Turkish tourists in 2010 to Bosnia-Herzegovina, which has several natural beauties and historical attractions.

Executives from the leading travel agencies in Turkey visited Sarajevo and Mostar cities of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

A reception was organized by Turkish Airlines (THY) in Sarajevo Museum bringing together Turkish tourism officials and representatives from Bosnian travel agencies.

Turkish Ambassador in Sarajevo Vefahan Ocak, THY's Director in Sarajevo Ahmet Salih Kansu and Turkish and Bosnian officials attended the reception.

Ocak said Turkish and Bosnian tourism representatives had taken an important step with that gathering to boost cooperation in the sector.

Veli Cilsal, chairperson of executive board of Anitur --a leading travel agency in Turkey--, said that Bosnia-Herzegovina had a great potential for the tourism sector and they would organize special tours to this country this summer.

Kagan Erdogan, deputy director general of Tivoli Turizm, said Bosnia-Herzegovina was a beautiful country and Turkish tourists could spend good time there.

THY's Director in Sarajevo Kansu said Turkish citizens could visit Bosnia-Herzegovina without visa and THY had Istanbul-Sarajevo flights five days a week.

Bosnia-Herzegovina is in South-East Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula, where eastern and western civilizations met, enriched and reinforced each other throughout its long and fascinating history.

Bosnia-Herzegovina is a stunningly beautiful country with a vast array of landscapes, cultures, traditions and people.

According to an estimation of the World Tourism Organization, Bosnia-Herzegovina will have the third highest tourism growth rate in the world by 2020.
