One U.S. dollar was traded at 1.554 Turkish lira at Istanbul free market at noon. Friday's closing was at 1.543 lira.

Economists expect an upward trend of U.S. dollar against Euro and Turkish lira until the end of the year.

"We do not see a serious risk or a serious pressure on Turkish lira but it is likely to go down a little bit more," said Nurhan Toguc, chief economist of Turkish investment firm Ata Yatirim.
