Four people were injured, three seriously, after a man with an axe attacked passengers Monday on a train in southern Germany, according to authorities.
The suspect was fatally short by police while trying to flee in Heidingsfeld, a small town near the southern German city of Wurzburg.
Bavaria’s interior minister, Joachim Herrmann, told public television station, ARD, that the suspect was identified as a 17-year-old Afghan migrant.
He said the motive for the attack was not immediately clear and investigators are probing any political connections.
