Greek Cypriot administration ordered banks to remain closed for two more days.
Greek Cypriot press announced that the sudden postponement of the much anticipated Thursday bank opening was due to the disagreement between leader of the Greek Cypriot administration Nicos Anastasiadis and head of Central Bank Panikos Dimitriadis.
All the banks other than Laiki Bank, one of largest bank of Greek Cypriots, and the Bank of Cyprus, the largest lender, were to open as of Thursday as part of the bailout package agreed on by the EU and IMF, according to a statement released by the Central Bank.
Banks in the Greek Cypriot administration have been closed for ten days, creating big distress both for citizens and businessmen.
