Hollande addresses parliament over attacks

The Paris attacks were decided in Syria, prepared in Belgium and perpetrated with French help, French President Francois Hollande said Monday.

Friday's "acts of war... were decided and planned in Syria, prepared and organised in Belgium (and) perpetrated on our soil with French complicity," he said, speaking to an exceptional joint gathering of parliament in Versailles, south of Paris.

French President expressed his intention to table a bill to extend the state of emergency for three months and called on France to show "perseverence" and "unity" in the wake of the worst-ever terrorist attack on French soil.

Moreover, President Hollande said that France would "intensify its operations in Syria", hours after the first series of air strikes against the ISIL group since the Paris attacks.

"We will continue the strikes in the weeks to come," Hollande told lawmakers in a solemn address.

He also called for the UN Security Council session on fighting ISIL extremists.
