The largest grocery store chain in Luxembourg, Cactus, has decided to stop marketing fruit and vegetables imported from Israel until verifying that they not from Israeli settlements built on Palestinian occupied territories.
Luxembourg's leading food retailer had bowed to pro-Palestinian pressure, specifically from the organisation Just Peace in the Middle East, which has organised protests for months to put pressure on Cactus to stop marketing Israeli products, Israel's Yediot Ahronot newspaper reported.
The paper reported the food network as saying that Israeli products such as fruit and vegetables only provides a marginal income, so it has decided to stop marketing them in order to avoid protests outside its branches.
The newspaper pointed out that Israel's Honorary Consul in Luxembourg Daniel Schneider has contacted the company's management to convince it to revert its decision to stop marketing Israeli fruit and vegetables.Güncelleme Tarihi: 01 Eylül 2015, 10:14
