No signs of arson were found in the first investigation into the fire which killed eight Turks in the German city of Backnang.

The Baden Wurttenbergen Police Chief, the Director of Criminal Police, and Turky’s Stuttgard Consul General Mustafa Turker Ari had informed the public last Sunday about the fire-related deaths of the 8 Turks.

The Chief of Police stated that they were working alongside the special criminal team requested from Switzerland.

According to the initial results of the investigation in which dogs sensitive to the smell of flammable material are participating, no signs have been discovered of arson in the fire.

Director of criminal police was asked whether an industrial electric system was used in the house in which the fire occurred.

The Chief of Police in turn indicated that after all the cables in the house have been removed, a final decision will be reached in Zurich. Mustafa Turker Ari said that he too is following the developments closely.

It has been reported that the investigation into the incident will continue for at least 2 weeks, and the final statement will be made by the prosecutor's office.
