Recent Cyprus meeting re-scheduled

Turkish Cypriot President Dervis Eroglu and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias will have their next meeting on December 15, Eroglu's office said in a statement on Thursday.

The meeting was scheduled for December 13, however, Greek Cypriot side asked to have it two days later, the statement said.

Eroglu and Christofias had their last meeting on December 6 and set out a timeline for Cyprus reunification talks, going on since September 2008. Accordingly, Cypriot leaders would get together at the buffer zone on December 13, 21 and 28.

Last month, leaders had a tripartite meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon who called on parties to add momentum to talks. Ban had said they decided to come together again in Geneva at the end of January 2011, and to intensify the talks to prepare a "practical plan" to eliminate disagreements.
