Russia may ban flights by Ukraine’s largest airline from its territory after Kiev slapped airspace restrictions on several Russian carriers last Friday.
According to Natalya Timakova, press attache to the Russian Prime Ministry, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Monday ordered the country’s transport ministry to examine imposing sanctions against Ukraine International Airlines.
Ukrainian president, Petro Poroshenko, signed a government decree on Friday which will ban 25 Russian airlines from the country’s airspace from October 25. Among them were Russia’s second-largest outfit, Transaero, as well as Aeroflot, Sibir and UTair.
