Russia PM orders to probe Crimean leadership

World Bulletin / News Desk

Russian Prime Minister Dmitriy Medvedev ordered the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation Tuesday to investigate Crimea's occupation authorities over protraced disbursement of the federal funds for the development of the region.

The probe was caused by Sergey Aksyonov's, Crimea's de facto head, remarks about insufficient funding from Russia. The Aksyonov's statements have led to the creation of a federal commission that will investigate the interim government of Crimea.

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation said that 1.98 billion rubles have been allocated for the Crimea, but it is uncertain what happened to the money.
