Slovakia partly reopens airspace, Bratislava closed

Slovakia has reopened its eastern airspace completely and the rest of its airspace for flights above 7,500 metres, but the airport in the capital Bratislava remains closed for now, the Slovak Air Authority said on Monday.

Slovakia closed its airspace at 1300 GMT on Friday because of the ash cloud from the erupting volcano in Iceland.

"The eastern part of the country is completely open (also below 7,500 metres), a further update and decision is to be taken after 1200 GMT," Petr Bruna, head of Slovakia's Air Authority told Reuters.
