A teacher in the Swedish town of Orebro has been prosecuted for posting anti-Muslim comments on Facebook, local media reported Tuesday.

Swedish daily Expressen reported the man wrote in February, among other things: "Muslims should be roasted on glowing grills, because it would be a good way to get rid of terrorists."

The prosecutor said the man expressed contempt for people of Muslim background, Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter reported Monday.

Sweden is facing rising tension against the foreign population inside the country amid a series of arson attacks targeting refugees taking shelter inside asylum homes.

On Oct. 23, a sword-wielding attacker intentionally targeted students of foreign origin at a school in Sweden, according to the police, which called the incident a "hate crime".

Nordic countries, including Sweden and Denmark, saw an increase in asylum seekers in recent years. Sweden received the greatest share of EU’s 626,000 asylum seekers last year based on its population size and is expected to receive 74,000 asylum seekers in 2015, compared to 85,000 in 2014, according to its migration board.

Sweden’s far-right and anti-immigrant group, Sweden Democrats, has become the most popular party in the country, according to a YouGov poll released on Aug. 20.
