Eleven people were injured in the crash and taken to hospitals in Raseborg, about 53 miles south west of Helsinki, and to the capital.

At least three soldiers and one civilian have been killed in a collision between a rail car and a military truck in the southern part of Finland.

The MASI military truck was carrying at least 13 young men carrying out their national service when it crashed with a rail car, between Raseborg and Hangö.

All three soldiers were conscripts in Finland's mandatory national service, and were taking part in a military exercise in the area.

The fourth victim was a passenger who fell ill on the rail car after the collision.
