Turkish Cypriot President Dervis Eroglu will travel to Turkish capital Ankara on Sunday to undergo a heart surgery, Eroglu's office said on Saturday.

Doctors suggested the surgery after an angiogram taken at Near East University in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Eroglu will have a "precautionary" heart surgery, his office said.

Meanwhile, Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias and UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Cyprus Alexander Downer called Eroglu and wished him a quick recovery, officials said.
