Turkish Cyprus President says open to UN date for talks

President Dervis Eroglu of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said on Monday that they targeted to resume Cyprus talks on May 26th.

Eroglu, who received a group of students from Ege University, said that during Mehmet Ali Talat's presidency, Cyprus talks could not be concluded. He added that Annan Plan was resorted to referendum, but Greek Cypriot administration did not accept the plan.

Eroglu noted that it had been the Greek Cypriot administration which rejected all agreements so far. He added that today, Greek Cypriot administration was both EU member and UN member.

Noting that they targeted to resume Cyprus talks on May 26, Eroglu said that talks might be completed with an agreement by the end of year.
