An immigrant of Turkish origin died in hospital in Sjaelland island where he was under treatment after being shot by Danish police on Monday.

Muammer Arslan, 48, succumbed to firearm wounds he sustained in Slagelse town located 100 km southeast of Denmark’s capital Copenhagen, where he was fired at by police after he got involved in a brawl in front of a pub.

Arslan’s friends have alleged that Danish police fired rounds from their weapons without warning him and the incident is reported to be under investigation by an independent police complaints committee known as the DUP unit.
