Ukraine could do an asset swap with Russia to get access to gas production business in Russia, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich told Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.

"We would be ready to exchange some assets in order for joint cooperation, so that we could enter into the extraction of gas in Russia," Yanukovich told Putin at a meeting in Istanbul.
