6 dead at railway crossing crash in western Turkey

At least six people died Friday when a train crashed into a minibus carrying farm workers in western Turkey, an official said. 

The accident happened in the Alasehir district of Turkey's western Manisa province in the early morning hours, said Osman Bilgin, the district governor. 

"Of the passengers in the minibus, six died. Out of 21 people injured, 10 were taken to Alasehir, and 11 to Salihli state hospitals," said Bilgin. "A total of eight of the injured are in critical condition." 

Bilgin said the train hit the minibus from the back side.
