Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and Spokesperson for the Turkish government, Bulent Arinc on Monday said that "unfortunately, the Apaydin Camp was a target and a plan was made to attack Syrian refugees living at the camp".
Speaking at a press conference following Monday's meeting of the Turkish Council of Ministers, Arinc stressed that those who planned to attack the Apaydin Camp were individuals who took a delegation from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) to Assad recently.
"An investigation is underway into a planned attack on the Apaydin Camp. We know that those who planned the attack on the Apaydin Camp also included individuals who took the CHP delegation to Assad," Arinc underlined.
On the Lebanese Hezbollah and their ties to Syria, Arinc noted that following the remarks of Hezbollah leader Nasrallah that they will not let Assad go down, Hezbollah forces have joined Assad forces and were fighting against the Syrian opposition.
Hezbollah's stance was condemned by many organizations, including the Arab League and the Union of Islamic Scholars, Arinc said.
Arinc added that they also discussed various domestic and international developments and issues pertaining to security in Monday's meeting of the Turkish Council of Ministers.Güncelleme Tarihi: 28 Mayıs 2013, 09:18
