Turkish soccer club Besiktas's three newly transferred Portuguese players, Hugo Almeida, Simao Sabrosa and Manuel Fernandes, have arrived in Istanbul.
Besiktas's other star player Ricardo Quaresma were also on board the plane together with the Portuguese players.
Some 2 thousand supporters of the soccer club rushed to the airport to welcome the Portuguese players.
Portuguese striker Hugo Almeida from Werder Bremen of Germany signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Besiktas. 26-year-old Almeida, who previously played for F.C. Porto, U.D. Leiria and Boavista, has scored 12 goals in 33 appearances for Portugal since making his debut in 2004.
Portuguese winger Simao Sabrosa from Atletico Madrid of Spain agreed to a two-and-a-half year contract with the Turkish club. 31-year-old Simao played for Sporting Lisbon, Barcelona and Benfica before spending the last three seasons with Atletico.
24-year-old Valencia midfielder Manuel Fernandes also signed a contract with Besiktas until the end of the season.
