An explosion in the garden of a police compound in Turkey's southeastern province of Kahramanmaras injured several people.

Five people were injured on Friday after a blast at a police headquarters in the southeastern Turkish province of Kahramanmaras, a government official said.

Kahramanmaras Governor Sukru Kocatepe stated that the blast in the shooting gallery of the headquarters resulted from powder gas compression, according to initial findings.

Kocatepe stated that three of the injured people were police officers while the others were civilian workers. He said, "There is no sign showing that the blast was a terrorist attack."

An investigation was launched into the incident.
