A Turkish special operations police officer was killed in a road blast in Derik town of the south-eastern province of Mardin on Monday.

The blast took place as a vehicle carrying special operations police officers was moving in down-town Derik.

Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), Mardin Governor, Turhan Ayvaz said that another police officer was wounded in the blast.
