The president of China Islamic Association said on Saturday that he wished to learn from Turkey's experiences.
Hilaluddin Chen Guangyuan said he had received general information about religious education during his first visit to Turkey, and said he had seen that there were many things that could be learned from Turks.
"We wish to learn from your experiences," Guangyuan told AA correspondent on the sidelines of his first formal visit to Turkey.
Guangyuan said he agreed with Mehmet Gormez, the head of Turkish Religious Affairs Directorate, to educate Chinese students in Turkish imam hatip high schools (giving theological education) and theology faculties, and cooperate in common religious publications.
There were 23 million Muslims, 40,000 mosques and 50,000 imams in China, Guangyuan said.
