A local criminal court in Istanbul remanded in custody 17 suspects linked to the airport extreme attack in the city, a security source said.
The Barikoy Court of Peace gave the remand late Monday for the suspects, which include 11 foreigners, according to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.
The suspects have been charged with being members of a extremist organization.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said 29 people had been arrested in connection with Tuesday’s gun-and-bomb attack at Ataturk International Airport that left 44 dead and more than 200 injured.
