No casualties reported in an explosion which happened in an ammunition store in Turkey's central Anatolian Kirikkale province.
Kirikkale Police Chief Kadri Kartal said there were no casualties in the explosion that took place at an ammunition store in Machinery and Chemical Industry Institution (MKEK) late Tuesday.
Fire started in the forested area caused by the explosion was brought under control.
Windows of the nearby houses were broken due to the force of the explosion.
The explosion may have broken out because of the remnants at the abondoned ammunition stores, said Kirikkale Governor Ali Kolat.
Meanwhile, houses in the region were evacuated for safety reasons while Kirikkale-Kirsehir highway was closed to traffic as a precautionary measure.Güncelleme Tarihi: 21 Ağustos 2013, 08:50
