A bill to change the structure of Turkey's Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecuters (HSYK) was voted Wednesday by Parliament, who removed the first article but confirmed the other three.
According to approved articles, the authority of HSYK to sent judges and prosecutors to abroad - except whom are working in centre and rural institutions, in international institutions and courts or duty in different institutions, councils or organizations - was removed.
The removed article was offering to increase the condition of serving as supreme court member for four years to eight years for being elected as chief public prosecutor of the supreme court.
The article was also offering to increase the condition of serving as supreme court member for three years to six year for being elected as deputy chief public prosecutor of the supreme court.
The assignment of judges and prosecutors to foreign missions, international courts or institutions will be done by Ministry of Justice.
On January 17, the Turkish Parliament commission approved the bill that proposes transferring some of the powers of the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK) to its chair, the Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag.Güncelleme Tarihi: 23 Ocak 2014, 09:12
