Kadir Topbas, Metropolitan Mayor of Istanbul, will travel to Barcelona, Spain to attend meetings of the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) of the United Nations.
The participants will convene in December 21 and 22 to plan 3-year studies of UCLG.
Topbas and an accompanying delegation will meet with UCLG World Secretariat staff to discuss the three-year program.
Topbas was elected president of UCLG for 2010-2013 term.
Thousands of local administrations from 136 of 192 UN countries are members of UCLG.
