One Turkish villager killed in land mine blast in Şırnak

One villager was killed and another injured on Sunday when a tractor hit a land mine laid by the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Uludere, a district in the southeastern province of Şırnak.

The villagers were travelling by tractor from the town of Şenoba to the Bave plateau to collect firewood. Passenger Nizar Babat, 17, died in the explosion, while passenger Hasan Babat, 32, was wounded. The injured man was taken to Şırnak State Hospital for treatment.
