Seven were detained on Friday in an operation targeting a gang smuggling people through İstanbul Atatürk Airport, according to police reports. Four airport employees and three suspected of finding people for the gang to smuggle were detained.
The police reports said an official at Atatürk Airport's Turkish Ground Services (TGS) discovered some illegal departures before the passengers left the airport, without giving more specifics.
The official caught the passengers in the act, and when he called the police he set off an investigation that detected the presence of a people smuggling gang. After the investigation was complete, police launched the operation that resulted in Friday's seven arrests. The suspects were referred to court.Güncelleme Tarihi: 24 Ağustos 2013, 13:14
