Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) extremists attacked the Bahçesaray district governorate building with rocket launchers and automatic weapons in eastern Turkish province of Van.
The extremists fled the scene as the soldiers responded to the attack immediately.
One of the two rocket launchers was reported to have fallen into the district governor's office .
A group of 5 to 6 extremists are being sought in the region.
Security measures were ramped up and counterextremism operations conducted to prevent extrem attacks across the country and in Northern Iraq as extremists continue to target Turkish cities.
At least 7,600 extremists have been killed by Turkish forces since July of last year, when the PKK resumed extremist activities.
