A six-member Yves family from France has arrived in north-western province of Kirklareli on bikes on Monday after leaving the French city of Lille on May 15.

Speaking to the AA, Jean Yves said that his wife Annick, daughters Marine, Amaelle and Florette and son Pierre Yves chose to ride and travel on bikes in order to see the beauties of Turkey better.

We began our journey on May 15 and crossed Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece before arriving at Edirne's Ipsala Border Pass, Jean Yves said.

We simply love to ride on bikes. We had a good trip until we arrived in Turkey. Many Turks offered us cola, water and fruits since we entered the country. Turkish farmers shared their meal with us. We got very emotional after seeing such hospitality. Our trip on bikes will end in Istanbul. We will go back to France in a passenger jet, Jean Yves said.

At times we had difficulty due to heavy rainfall. Our trip took longer than we thought due to heavy rainfall in various cities, Jean Yves also said.
