Two people were injured in Turkey's southern Ceylanpinar near the border with Syria after being hit by stray bullets apparently fired from the Syrian side.

The Syrian city of Ras al-Ayn across the border with the Turkish town has been the scene of intense clashes between the Democratic Union Party (PYD), a Kurdish group affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), and the al-Nusra Front vying for control for Syria's north.

The PYD captured the border town of Ras al-Ayn in July.
