Passengers were evacuated from a Turkish Airlines (THY) plane after a fire alarm.
The Boeing 777-300ER plane bound from Istanbul to Bangkok, was preparing to take off from the Ataturk Airport at 00:35 a.m. with 284 passengers and 14 crew members on board when pilots received a fire alarm in the cargo section.
Fire-fighting and search-and-rescue teams were sent to the plane.
Emergency exit gates were opened to evacuate passengers. 30 people were slightly injured because of panic among passengers during the evacuation.
Fire-fighting teams could not find any traces of fire during their search in the plane.
Another plane left for Bangkok after a nine-hour delay.
