Turkey is mostly preferred by tourists with children, not only because of its natural, historical and cultural richness, but also due to the economic and safe holiday opportunities it offers.
According to the Turkey Demand Profile Analysis published by the Turkish Hoteliers Federation, tourists with children accounted for the majority in the increase in tourist numbers in 2012.
Last year, the number of children tourists increased by half a million.
On the other hand, the number of tourists over 45 declined.
Of the 2.8 million tourists who visited Turkey in 2011, 75 percent were travellers without children. Children under 14 years accounted for 15 percent, and package deals for 10 percent.
In 2012, this trend stopped as the economic crisis in Europe worsened.
The number of tourists last year increased by a modest one percent, or about 300 thousand.
Last year saw a drop of 9 percent in the number of travellers without children, whereas the number of children under 15 increased by more than 10 percent.
Accordingly, package tours accounted for 68 percent of the increase in 2012, and children for 32 percent.Güncelleme Tarihi: 27 Eylül 2013, 13:51
