Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc has said he will convene a Counter-Terrorism Committee ''soon" for a meeting on the "solution process" in the country.
His comments on Monday came after the Turkish Parliament passed a bill on July 10 providing a legal framework to the ongoing process of ending terrorism in the country and strengthening social integration.
''I would say that we are much closer to a solution at the point we have reached today in this two-year process,'' Arinc said.
The "solution process" began early last year with a ceasefire between the Turkish government and the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party, known by its Kurdish language acronym PKK, which is considered a terrorist organization by Turkey and many of its western allies including the U.S.
The July law was passed by the entire parliament except 36 votes, Arinc said.Güncelleme Tarihi: 09 Eylül 2014, 09:32
