Twenty people were detained Saturday in the south-central Kilis province for allegedly trying to cross illegally into Syria to join ISIL, Turkish military said Sunday.
According to the Turkish General Staff’s statement, the suspects were travelling in a minibus towards Turkey’s border with Syria when they were stopped in Kilis province.
An investigation into the incident has been launched, the statement added.
